We are mastering the alphabet!!!

Students will be introduced to all letters and sounds!!!  First and foremost, students need to be able to name the letters in their names and put the letters in order.  The first few letters we are studying are Mm and Ss.  Students need to identify the letter and sound, recognize it at the beginning of words, and write it correctly.  The pace of letter introduction will increase each week.

Book It!

The Pizza Hut Book-It program will begin in October.  Each month I will send a Book-It sheet home.  Please read 12 books to your child and write the titles on the sheet and return it to me for a Pizza Hut personal pan pizza coupon for your child.  As the year progresses and your child's reading skills improve, you may write titles of books that your child reads to you!

If you lose your Book-It sheet - no problem - just write your titles on a sheet of paper and return it to me! The Book-It program concludes in March.

Take-Home Books

Late in the first semester students will begin receiving books to read at home.   Some adult help may be necessary, but students should read through the books independently two or three times.  These books may be included on the Book-It list.
